“Those whom God effectually calls, he freely justifies. He does not justify by pouring righteousness into us, but by forgiving our sins. He considers and accepts us as righteous not because of what we accomplished in us nor by us, but for Jesus Christ’s sake alone. Righteousness is not a part of God’s gift of faith, nor the result of our act of believing, nor the result of any obedience on our part to the good news of Christ. Rather, righteousness comes by God crediting and acknowledging the obedience and sacrificial death of Jesus Christ for us.”

Romans 8:30: “And those he predestined, he also called; those he called, he also justified; those he justified, he also glorified.”
Romans 3:24: “and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.”
Romans 4:5-8: “However, to the one who does not work but trusts God who justifies the ungodly, their faith is credited as righteousness. 6 David says the same thing when he speaks of the blessedness of the one to whom God credits righteousness apart from works: 7 “Blessed are those whose transgressions are forgiven, whose sins are covered. 8 Blessed is the one whose sin the Lord will never count against them.”
II Corinthians 5:19: “that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation.”
Romans 3:22, 24-25, 27-28: “ This righteousness is given through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference between Jew and Gentile…24 and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. 25 God presented Christ as a sacrifice of atonement, through the shedding of his blood—to be received by faith. He did this to demonstrate his righteousness, because in his forbearance he had left the sins committed beforehand unpunished…27 Where, then, is boasting? It is excluded. Because of what law? The law that requires works? No, because of the law that requires faith. 28 For we maintain that a person is justified by faith apart from the works of the law.”
Titus 3:5: “…he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit…7 so that, having been justified by his grace, we might become heirs having the hope of eternal life.”
Ephesians 1:7; “In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace…”
Jeremiah 23:6; “In his days Judah will be saved and Israel will live in safety. This is the name by which he will be called: The Lord Our Righteous Savior.”
I Corinthians 1:30-31: “It is because of him that you are in Christ Jesus, who has become for us wisdom from God—that is, our righteousness, holiness and redemption. 31 Therefore, as it is written: “Let the one who boasts boast in the Lord.”
Romans 5:17-19: “For if, by the trespass of the one man, death reigned through that one man, how much more will those who receive God’s abundant provision of grace and of the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man, Jesus Christ! 18 Consequently, just as one trespass resulted in condemnation for all people, so also one righteous act resulted in justification and life for all people. 19 For just as through the disobedience of the one man the many were made sinners, so also through the obedience of the one man the many will be made righteous.”

Philippians 3:9: “and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ—the righteousness that comes from God on the basis of faith.”
Acts 13:38-39: “Therefore, my friends, I want you to know that through Jesus the forgiveness of sins is proclaimed to you. 39 Through him everyone who believes is set free from every sin, a justification you were not able to obtain under the law of Moses.”
Ephesians 2:7-8: “in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus. 8 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—“

“Faith, which receives and rests on Christ’s righteousness, is the only means of justification. Such faith does not exist by itself, but always is accompanied with all of the consequences of God’s saving and loving kindness. Such faith is not dead, but works through love.”

“Jesus Christ, by means of his obedience to the law and his sacrificial death, fully paid the debt of sin for all who are justified by faith. He made a proper, real and full satisfaction to the Father’s justice on our behalf. For us Jesus was given over to death by the Father for the satisfaction of justice.”

Hebrews 10:10, 14: “And by that will, we have been made holy through the sacrifice of the body of Jesus Christ once for all….14 For by one sacrifice he has made perfect forever those who are being made holy.”
Daniel 9:24, 26: “Seventy ‘sevens’ are decreed for your people and your holy city to finish transgression, to put an end to sin, to atone for wickedness, to bring in everlasting righteousness, to seal up vision and prophecy and to anoint the Most Holy Place. 26 After the sixty-two ‘sevens,’ the Anointed One will be put to death and will have nothing. The people of the ruler who will come will destroy the city and the sanctuary. The end will come like a flood: War will continue until the end, and desolations have been decreed.”
Romans 8:32: “He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?”

“His obedience and satisfactory sacrifice were accepted on our behalf. Bother were freely imputed to us for there was nothing in us calling for such mercy. From eternity god chose to justify all of the elect. Jesus Christ, at the time of God’s choosing, died for our sins. He rose again for our justification. We do not experience actual justification before God until the Holy Spirit at the right time applies the work of Christ to us.

“Through repentance, as sinners, we recognize with new sight and sense not only sin’s danger, but the filthy and evil obnoxiousness of our sins. We perceive sin as clearly contrary to God’s holy nature and his righteous law. Being apprehended by God’s mercy in Christ, as repentant persons, now hating sin, we are moved to grief for past sins. Rejecting our sinful past, as repentant persons we turn to God, struggling to live our daily life as the Lord commands.”

“Repentance does not pay for sin nor justify a sinful past. Pardon for sinfulness is an act of God’s free grace in Jesus Christ. However, repentance is of such a necessity to all sinners, none of us may expect ot be pardoned without it.”

“Everyone has need to express their private confession of sin before God, requesting his forgiveness. When we forsake sin, we find God’s mercy. If we should do evil against our brother, sister, or the church of Jesus Christ, we need to be willing either privately or publicly, which sadness for our sin, to confess repentance to those offended. Such honest repentance calls the offended persons to reconciliation, lovingly receiving the repentant.”
